An injection-molded plastic kit of the German Sturmpanzer IV Brummbär heavy assault gun in its early version (Sd.Kfz.166) from Hobby Boss. The model captures the massive armored superstructure with its short barrel and its sturdy front. The kit is made up of a large number of plastic parts and usually adds photo-etched parts, copper cable and crew figures; take the exact contents of the box from the instructions.
The Sturmpanzer IV, nicknamed Brummbär, was a German infantry assault vehicle built on the chassis of the Panzer IV tank. In its closed superstructure it carried a short 15 cm howitzer meant to destroy fortifications and support infantry in urban fighting. The early version is recognized by a different front part of the superstructure and a different arrangement of the vision ports compared with the later series. The vehicles were used among other places at Kursk, at Anzio and in Normandy.
Assemble and complete the running gear before you close the hull, and pay attention to the seating of the superstructure and the side Schürzen. Glue the plastic with a thin cement, treat the surface with a primer and apply the paint with an airbrush. Bring German camouflage to life with filters, washes and pigments; consider imitating Zimmerit depending on the particular variant.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
