A sizeable injection-molded plastic model of the German Heinkel He 111H-6 medium bomber in the large 1:35 scale from Border Model. It is a new mold with a richly worked surface (the effect of a taut skin, raised as well as recessed rivets). The package contains a detailed interior and detailed engines, as well as photo-etched brass, clear parts and decals for several finishes. Variants of the underwing stores are enclosed too. The large 1:35 scale is unusual for aircraft and lets every detail stand out.
The He 111 was a twin-engine medium bomber with a characteristic fully glazed nose. The H series was among the most widespread and most numerously produced versions and was powered by a pair of inverted V12 Junkers Jumo 211 engines. The H-6 version was a versatile machine able to carry bombs as well as torpedoes, thanks to which it served both in the classic bomber role and as a torpedo bomber against shipping.
Given the size and the rich interior this is a larger build suitable for more experienced modelers. Glue the plastic parts with modeling cement for plastic and fill and sand the large fuselage and wing joints carefully. It pays to paint and shade the interior, the cockpit and the engines before the fuselage is closed up; glue the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Apply primer before painting and lay thin layers on with an airbrush; the varied surface with its rivets will benefit from picking out the panels and a fine wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
