An injection-molded plastic kit of the American heavy tractor HEMTT M983 on an 8x8 chassis in 1:35 scale from Trumpeter. The HEMTT is a family of American heavy tactical trucks on an 8x8 chassis taken into US Army service in the 1980s. The M983 variant serves as a tractor and is known, among other things, for towing elements of the Patriot air defense system. The vehicles stand out for their mobility in difficult terrain, their load capacity and their reliability, and they form the backbone of the logistics of the modern US Army. It is exactly this combination of load capacity and cross-country mobility that makes the HEMTT family one of the most widespread logistic platforms of the US forces.
Work in subassemblies and with liquid cement for plastic; bond the photo-etched parts with super glue. First assemble and paint the drivetrain, the engine and the axles; fit the hollow rubber tires only after painting. Apply a primer before painting and spray with an airbrush. For the patina of wheeled logistic vehicles, dust pigments and mud effects on the tires and the lower chassis, worked in with washes, do the job well.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
