It is a large model with a well worked chassis, cab and pallet loading system; besides the plastic parts the package also holds etched metal. Thanks to the M1076 trailer and the large scale it is a more extensive build, suitable as a prominent centerpiece of a diorama.
The PLS (Palletized Load System) is an American logistics system for the rapid transport and transfer of cargo on standardized pallets. It consists of a heavy tractor on a chassis of the HEMTT family with an integrated self-loading device, a trailer and removable cargo flatracks. The M1074 version is fitted with a loading arm (a hook system) that allows cargo to be loaded and set down without outside equipment, and it serves to supply combat units. The system entered US Army service in the 1990s and has been deployed in a number of conflicts.
Given its size and the number of parts it is a more demanding build, suitable for more experienced modelers. Finish and paint the chassis, the axles and the suspension well in advance, before the bodywork covers them. Glue the plastic parts with a thin modeling cement for plastic and the etched parts with cyanoacrylate. Lay down a base coat (primer) before painting and use an airbrush; the large areas of the bodywork come to life with shading, washes emphasize the details and pigments allow mud and dust effects on the wheels and the chassis.
