An injection-molded plastic kit of the American M1082 LMTVT military trailer in 1:35 scale from Trumpeter. Note: this is not a vehicle in its own right but a single-axle cargo trailer intended to be towed behind trucks of the LMTV family. According to the manufacturer the box contains, besides the plastic parts, photo-etched sheet and a tarpaulin with bows.
The M1082 is a tactical cargo trailer of the US Army from the LMTV family of light and medium tactical vehicles. It is a single-axle trailer with an air-operated brake system connected to the towing vehicle and with a parking brake against unwanted movement. It serves to extend the load capacity of a convoy and is usually covered with a tarpaulin over bows.
First assemble the frame, the axle and the brake system, and only then finish the body and the tarpaulin with its bows. Use thin cement for plastic and bond the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue. Apply a primer before painting; put the base shade on with an airbrush. Fidelity comes from emphasizing the details with a wash and above all from realistic dust and mud on the underside and the tires with pigments, because a trailer in service tends to be markedly dirty. The trailer suits a model of its towing vehicle perfectly.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
