A plastic kit of the American M1133 Stryker wheeled armored personnel carrier in the MEV medical version. The model in 1:35 scale offers a detailed hull, eight wheels with rubber tires, a well worked-out interior and photo-etched parts. Water-slide decals for several vehicles are usually included; the exact contents depend on the particular release.
The M1133 MEV (Medical Evacuation Vehicle) is the ambulance version of the Stryker family, which the US Army derived from the Canadian LAV III based in turn on the Swiss Mowag Piranha chassis. The vehicle is used to evacuate the wounded - it takes litters and seated patients along with a medical team - and gives them a protected space with lighting and medical equipment. It was used in operations of the early 21st century.
Finish and paint the interior before you close the hull, because there is no access to it afterwards. Keep the wheels and tires separate for painting. Glue the plastic with a thin cement and the photo-etched covers with cyanoacrylate. Apply a primer and spray with an airbrush; desert or green camouflage comes alive with a wash into the panels and dust pigments on the suspension and the lower hull. Eight wheels make the build easier, but watch that they all stand straight so that the model does not rock. Tires given a matte finish capture the wear of the tread.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
