An injection-molded plastic kit of the American heavy tank transporter M911 C-HET together with the Talbert 64T lowboy semitrailer in 1:35 scale from Hobby Boss. It is a sizeable and richly broken-down combination; the built model has a respectable length. According to the manufacturer the cab has a slide-molded surface, a complete drivetrain and hollow rubber tires with a realistic tread.
The M911 C-HET (Commercial Heavy Equipment Transporter) was an American heavy tractor derived from an Oshkosh commercial truck. The United States Army introduced it to carry main battle tanks and other heavy vehicles by road without wearing out their tracks. Together with the Talbert 64T lowboy semitrailer it formed a transport combination able to carry a load weighing tens of tons. With drive on several axles and a powerful diesel engine, the tractor served from the 1970s and supported the logistics of armored units.
Build the combination in subassemblies — the tractor separately, the semitrailer separately. First finish the drivetrain, the axles and the cab interior, and only then close the bodywork. Fit the hollow rubber tires only after painting. Glue the plastic with liquid cement for polystyrene. Spray a primer before painting; for American vehicles a uniform olive drab or desert sand shade works well, or a three-color NATO camouflage. Create the weathering with washes in the recesses, a dry brush on the edges and pigments for dust and mud in the running gear and on the bed of the semitrailer.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
