The Marder III was a German tank destroyer built on the chassis of the Pz.Kpfw. 38(t) light tank, that is a machine of Czechoslovak design which German designers took over and used right to the end of the war. The designation Geschützwagen 38(t) was carried by the versions armed with a 7.5 cm anti-tank gun. The fighting compartment was open, so the crew worked practically under the open sky and in period photographs you can see into the vehicle. That is exactly why the interior is so rewarding on a model: it is not hidden under a hatch but makes up a substantial part of the view of a finished build.
Parts for the interior fitting of the fighting compartment, which replace the simplified version from the base kit. The set is cut to the Tamiya kit, so the seating surfaces match its shapes. The composition of the parts and their placement are given by the instructions enclosed with the set.
Cut away surplus material with a sharp blade a short distance from the part and sand the remainder, so as not to disturb the shape. Before painting, wash the parts and degrease them and use a base coat. Cyanoacrylate glue suits the gluing and holds even where cement for polystyrene fails. Paint and assemble the interior before you close the build of the vehicle up; in a finished model a brush will no longer reach the walls and the floor. Check the particular procedure for preparing the parts in the manufacturer's instructions.
