The transmission of the German Panther tank in 1:35 scale. An accessory for an open front compartment of the hull, a repair scene or a workshop scene.
Responsibility details are not available.
An add-on part for models of the German Panther tank, capturing its transmission. On the Panther the transmission and the final drives sit in the front part of the hull, so it is a part that can be shown in a scene after the front armor or the hatches above it are removed.
Most often in a repair scene. A unit pulled out and hung on a tripod, laid on wooden beams beside the vehicle or loaded on the bed of a recovery truck is a motif that immediately gives a scene both action and a reason for the crew to be standing around. The second route is an open model: the bow armor hinged up and a view inside, where you can see what is hidden under it. It also comes into its own as a small item on its own on a workshop floor among the tools.
Cut away surplus material and traces of manufacture with a sharp blade a short distance from the part and sand the remainder. Wash the area before painting and degrease it with alcohol; for the joints reach for cyanoacrylate glue. Before you seat the part, try it dry, because the inner space of a kit tends to be tight. Build the painting up from a dark base, over which a metallic shade is applied and then a dark glaze into all the corners. The contrast between a greasy unit and cleaner surroundings is rewarding: run the traces of oil only where it would really flow, that is from the top down and away from the joints. Lift the sharp edges with a dry brush, so that the part does not stay flat.
This is an add-on part for a model. The kit, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
