An injection-molded plastic kit of the modern ZTZ-99B main battle tank from Hobby Boss in 1:35 scale. The model captures the welded turret, the massive hull and the add-on armor of the real vehicle. The box usually contains a photo-etched part and decals; take the exact contents from the manufacturer's catalog.
The ZTZ-99 and its improved ZTZ-99B version are among the most modern main battle tanks of the Chinese People's Liberation Army. They bring a marked step forward in firepower, mobility and protection compared with the older Chinese tanks. The main armament is a 125 mm gun with an autoloader. The layout of the hull follows the line of the Soviet T-72 series tanks, although it is longer than they are.
Glue the plastic with thin modeling cement. Assemble and clean up the running gear and the details of the hull before you close the upper parts. A primer and an airbrush are advisable; the modern green and brown camouflage scheme comes out well with discreet lightening of the surfaces followed by washes and pigments for dust effects.
