Eduard Pz.Kpfw. III / IV – Tracks Type 3A is a set of 3D printed link tracks in 1:35 scale. It is not a tank model but a detail accessory for the plastic kits of the German Panzer III and Panzer IV tanks.

This item is not a tank model but a detail accessory – a set of replacement link tracks of type 3A in 1:35 scale from the Czech manufacturer Eduard. The tracks are made by direct 3D printing, so they have crisp edges, fine relief of the guide horns and holes and faithfully capture the shape of the real links. They serve to replace the tracks supplied in the base kit of the German Pz.Kpfw. III and Pz.Kpfw. IV tanks.
The Panzer III and the Panzer IV had running gear designed for the same track width, and so the tracks were interchangeable between them. The wide 40 cm links appear on most production versions of both tanks from the beginning of the 1940s and were used by derived vehicles as well, the StuG III assault gun for example. The designation type 3A corresponds to one of the particular forms of these links – the individual types differ in the detail of the casting, the shape of the guide horn and the anti-slip features. Tracks are among the most conspicuous parts of a tank, so the quality of their detail shows most of all on a finished model.
Separate the parts carefully from the 3D print support structures with a sharp scalpel or a fine saw and sand the cuts – protect your breathing while sanding. Before painting it is a good idea to wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water and let them dry thoroughly. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue), as ordinary cement for plastic has no effect on them. Start painting with a primer, go on with a dark steel or brown shade, add a wash into the recesses, a dry brush on the edges and finally pigments for dust and mud. When fitting them, watch the correct run of the track over the drive sprocket, the idler wheel and the return rollers.
The set contains only the tracks – it is not a tank kit. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
