The wheels with settled tires 1:35 RG-31 mk.3 sagged wheels replace the hard parts from the mold on a model of the South African mine-resistant vehicle.
Responsibility details are not available.
This South African armored vehicle stands on unusually tall off-road tires, and it is exactly on them that the difference between a part from a mold and a resin replacement shows most. The castings have a flattened contact patch and slightly bulged sidewalls, so that the model stops looking as if it were standing on circles. The coarse tread is carried right around the circumference and stands up to a close view as well.
The RG-31 grew out of the South African school of resistant vehicles, which was born in the long fighting in the south of Africa. A V-shaped hull, high ground clearance and a durable suspension were to protect the crew from a mine under a wheel. The Mk3 version reached American, Canadian and other units in Afghanistan and Iraq, where the vehicle served patrols and the engineers searching for devices. For a modeler it is one of the most characteristic present-day armored vehicles of all.
Stand the vehicle dry on a board and turn the tires so that the flattened area lies at the bottom and sits down across its full width. Cut the sprue nubs off as close to the surface as possible and sand the mark left by the cut with fine paper. Resin is harder than plastic, so do not modify the pins of the chassis but rather the hole in the wheel. A dry brush in a sandy tone will bring the tread out.
The wheels come in a raw state, ready for priming.
