Injection-molded plastic kit in 1:35 scale of the German Sd.Kfz. 247 Ausf.B command armored car. The model from the Ukrainian manufacturer ICM offers a well-detailed chassis and hull interior together with decals for several period vehicles. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The Sd.Kfz. 247 Ausf.B was a four-wheeled command armored car built on the Horch 108 chassis. It served as a mobile command post for the staffs of reconnaissance and armored units. Only a small number were built, which makes it a rare and interesting subject; it saw service on the Eastern as well as the Western Front.
Finish and paint the interior and the chassis first, and only then close up the hull. The open top of the car invites extra detailing, so it pays to clean up the seams carefully. For an authentic look use the basic Wehrmacht shades, washes in the recesses and pigments for dust and mud effects on the chassis.
