This injection-molded plastic kit from the Chinese maker Trumpeter in 1:35 scale represents the South African wheeled armored vehicle Rooikat. The model has richly detailed hull and turret parts and comes as an unassembled and unpainted set.
The Rooikat is a South African wheeled combat vehicle developed for combat reconnaissance, seek-and-destroy missions, anti-armor tasks and counter-guerrilla fighting. Its wheeled chassis with all-wheel drive gives it high speed and a long range, and it moves well even in sandy terrain, where tracked vehicles would lose their pace. The vehicle is armed with a gun mounted in a rotating turret.
Assemble and paint the chassis, the wheels and the suspension before you close the hull. Liquid cement for plastic and an airbrush make clean joints and an even finish easier. Fine-tune the dusty, dry patina typical of the African environment with washes, dry-brushing and pigments; bring out the rubber tires with a different shade.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
