This kit in 1:35 scale from Trumpeter presents the Soviet M-30 model 1938 divisional howitzer of 122 mm in its late form. It is an injection-molded plastic model to be assembled and painted. The box contains plastic parts, a metal barrel, photo-etched elements, vinyl tires and ammunition crates. The gun can be assembled in the firing as well as the transport position.
The M-30 howitzer of 122 mm was developed at the end of the 1930s in the design bureau led by F. F. Petrov and was built from 1939. It became the main divisional howitzer of the Red Army in the Second World War and, thanks to its reliability and effective fire, it stayed in service with many armies long after the war. It was marked by its splitting carriage trails and by both elevation and traverse.
Decide in advance whether to build the gun in the firing or the transport position. Work with thin plastic cement; the wooden ammunition crates come into their own once a primer and glazes have been applied. The paints are best sprayed with an airbrush, and washes and pigments suit the weathering.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
