An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet 2S3 self-propelled howitzer of 152 mm caliber in 1:35 scale from Trumpeter. The subject is a tracked artillery vehicle with a rotating turret. The package holds a large number of plastic parts and photo-etched parts.
The 2S3, nicknamed Akatsiya, is a Soviet self-propelled howitzer of 152 mm caliber brought into service at the turn of the 1960s and 1970s as an answer to Western self-propelled artillery. It combines a tracked chassis with a fully rotating turret carrying the howitzer. The vehicle was for a long time the backbone of Soviet and allied artillery.
First finish the running gear and the lower hull, then the turret and the barrel. Use thin cement on the plastic and spray over a base with an airbrush. Soviet green comes to life with washes, filters and dust pigments for the realistic weathering of an artillery vehicle.
