An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet heavy self-propelled gun ISU-152 in 1:35 scale from manufacturer Zvezda. The model depicts the massive armored hull with its distinctive 152 mm gun and the sturdy chassis derived from the IS heavy tank. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted as a classic plastic kit for gluing.
The ISU-152 was one of the most powerful Soviet self-propelled guns of the Second World War. It was built on the chassis of the IS heavy tank and carried a powerful 152 mm gun-howitzer in a fixed superstructure. Its devastating firepower earned it the nickname Zveroboy (beast slayer) — it could knock out heavy enemy tanks and smash fortified positions. It saw its greatest use in the war's final phase, during the capture of heavily fortified cities.
First assemble and paint the running gear, road wheels, and tracks before closing up the hull — the lower areas become hard to reach afterward. A primer coat brings out the cast texture of the armored hull. Complement the typical protective green with dark washes in the welds and recesses, and add pigments for mud and dust effects on the running gear, giving this heavy machine a convincing weathered look from the front.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints, and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
