An injection-molded plastic kit of the early Soviet T-12 medium tank in 1:35 scale from Hobby Boss. The set captures the unusual design of the interwar tank with its octagonal turret and is richly detailed, with photo-etched parts and individual track links. It is an interesting subject for modelers interested in the beginnings of armored vehicles.
The T-12 was a Soviet experimental medium tank developed at the turn of the 1920s and 1930s as one of the first domestic designs in this class. It was characterized by a simple hull between two tracks, a suspension with small road wheels and a multi-sided turret with a commander's cupola. The design remained a development type, yet it represents an important step in the early Soviet tank program.
Finish the running gear and the turret before you close the hull. Glue the plastic with a thin plastic cement, and the fine photo-etched parts and the individual track links with cyanoacrylate. Apply the base coat with an airbrush over a primer; riveted surfaces and the faceted turret come out with washes and pigments that give realistic weathering.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
