Printed tracks for the T-34 Model 1940 in 1:35 scale for the Tamiya kit. A replacement for rubber or split plastic tracks of the early type, of the kind the first production T-34s wore.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of tracks for the early-production Soviet T-34 medium tank, made by 3D printing from resin. This is not a tank kit but a replacement part for a model: the printed tracks have a cleanly rendered link profile, sharp edges on the guide horns and a surface with no traces of a mold parting line, which on plastic tracks take plenty of time to tidy up. The manufacturer has designated the set for the Tamiya kit.
The T-34 Model 1940 was the first production version, with the short 76 millimeter gun. It was precisely on the earliest production runs that the tracks differed in shape from the later wartime types, so a mix-up tells on a model. A wide track gave the tank a low ground pressure and the ability to get through soaked soil and snow, which turned out to be one of its greatest advantages.
Separate the tracks from the print supports, smooth the pads and wash the parts in lukewarm water with dish soap. They are glued with super glue. Before fitting them it is best to have the running gear finished, so that the track seats on the rollers. Painting is handled by a dark base, rust shades after it and finally drybrushing in a steel tone on the edges that rubbed against the ground.
The set is an accessory to a plastic kit, not a model in its own right. The Tamiya kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
