The TB.2 is a Turkish unmanned vehicle of the medium altitude category with a long flight endurance. It can be told by its pair of tail booms, the pusher propeller at the rear of the fuselage and the straight wing of great span against a slender fuselage. The machine carries out reconnaissance tasks as well as attacks with guided munitions and over the past decade it has appeared in several armed conflicts. Thanks to the smooth surfaces of the fuselage the model has few places where an imprecise paint edge could hide, and masking is therefore a crucial part of the build.
Lay the masks on a perfectly clean and degreased surface, otherwise the paint edge will bleed. Apply thinly and rather in two passes than in one heavy coat; a stream of paint directed perpendicular to the edge of the mask reduces the risk of it running under. Uncover at the moment when the finish has flashed off and is not yet fully cured. On parts this small, tweezers with fine tips and proper lighting of the work surface pay off.
