This injected plastic kit in 1:35 scale by the Italian maker Italeri captures the support and recovery vehicle based on the chassis of the Tiger I heavy tank. The model combines the familiar hull and running gear of the Tiger with a superstructure for work in the field, including a crane. The kit consists of plastic parts on sprues, and tracks and a decal sheet with markings are enclosed.
The Tiger I was one of the best-known German heavy tanks of the Second World War. Its rugged but technically demanding chassis also became the basis for special engineer and recovery conversions, which were to help with handling heavy material and with recovering stranded vehicles directly on the battlefield. Their use grew out of the need for service and rescue vehicles able to move in difficult terrain alongside combat units.
We recommend starting with the running gear and the lower part of the hull and closing the superstructure only afterwards. Use liquid cement for plastic and clean the joints before filling. Once the surface and the base color have been sprayed, the detail of the crane and the hull will stand out thanks to washes and pigments, with which you easily create the mud and dust effects typical of field vehicles.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
