An injection-molded plastic figure set in 1:48 scale from the Ukrainian maker ICM. The package holds figures of Japanese airmen and members of the ground crew from the period of the Second World War. The figures are meant to bring aircraft models and dioramas to life, whether beside a parked aircraft or during preparation for takeoff.
Japanese military aviation in the Second World War was organizationally part of the army and the navy. Besides the pilots themselves, flying operations were kept going by a numerous ground crew: mechanics and handlers who prepared, refueled and maintained the machines. The figures capture the period uniforms and the typical poses of these people.
Separate the parts from the sprues and clean up the parting lines. Use a thin modeling cement on the plastic. The figures come out best with a primer and layered brush painting, with the shadows deepened and the detail of the uniforms and faces brought out. The set can be placed in a diorama together with a model of an aircraft.
The set comes unassembled and unpainted. The glue, the paints and the aircraft model are not included in the package.
