A set of plastic figures, not an aircraft model. This set in 1:48 scale from ICM contains seven figures of members of the Royal Air Force from the Second World War: pilots, ground crew mechanics and a member of the women's auxiliary service. A dog figure and small airfield equipment are usually included as well, so the set serves excellently to bring dioramas around RAF aircraft in 1:48 scale to life.
The figures are made up of several parts, which you should glue with liquid cement for plastic; clean the small joints up so that the parting lines do not show. We recommend a primer base and brush painting. Build the skin tones up from a flesh base and darken the recesses with a wash, and separate the uniforms with transitions of shade. The blue-gray RAF uniforms and brown flying suits will complete the finished scene; bring out the small details of the gear with drybrushing.
For modelers who build RAF aircraft in 1:48 scale and want to create a living scene around them with crew and ground staff. Working with small figures calls for patience and a steady hand when painting.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Paints, glue and the aircraft are not included in the package.
