A set of small plastic models of the American F-14A Tomcat carrier fighter in 1:700 scale from Trumpeter. The package contains several aircraft on shared sprues, intended for filling the deck of a model of a modern aircraft carrier or a naval diorama in the same scale. The models are miniature and simple to build, with a decal sheet carrying US Navy markings. This is the original F-14A version — the variant with later engines and avionics (F-14B/D) is a separate set.
The Grumman F-14 Tomcat was a two-seat carrier fighter with a variable-geometry wing that sweeps back in flight. The basic F-14A version was powered by TF30 engines and from the 1970s formed the backbone of the air defense of American aircraft carriers. Thanks to its performance, its radar range and its characteristic silhouette the Tomcat became one of the most iconic carrier fighters of all.
Carefully clean the small parts of casting residue and glue them with a light touch. Because of their size, a basic coat with an airbrush, fine highlighting of the panels and restrained decals are enough. Keep the color scheme of all the pieces consistent, so that the deck looks uniform.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
