ICM 1:72 Afghan Motorcade (1979-1989) is an injection-molded plastic set of four Soviet vehicles in 1:72 scale for building a military convoy.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of injection-molded plastic kits in 1:72 scale from the Ukrainian maker ICM. The package holds four separate models of Soviet equipment from the period of the war in Afghanistan: the URAL-375D and URAL-375A trucks, the ATZ-5-375 tanker and the eight-wheeled BTR-60PB armored personnel carrier. It is a complete kit set for creating a whole convoy or a diorama, not a single model.
The URAL-375 was an off-road truck with all-wheel drive, built at Miass from the early 1960s and used in a wide spectrum of variants including tankers for carrying fuel. The BTR-60PB was the most widespread production version of the first Soviet eight-wheeled armored personnel carrier, with a closed turret and machine gun armament. This equipment formed the backbone of the Soviet supply and combat columns in the mountain and desert terrain of Afghanistan between 1979 and 1989.
With wheeled vehicles, assemble and clean up the suspension and the chassis before closing the body up. Laying the base single-color khaki on with an airbrush suits them, followed by washes and dust pigments for the faithful mud and dust effects typical of the Afghan campaign. The tanker and the cargo beds can be filled with a load to bring the scene to life.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
