Clear Prop Models 1:72 - a complete masking set for the wheels and the canopy framing of the Be-6 Madge flying boat. Made of yellow kabuki paper.
Responsibility details are not available.
A comprehensive masking set which covers the two most troublesome places on a model of a large flying boat: the tires of the landing gear and the divided framing of the glazing. The carrier is yellow kabuki paper, a thin Japanese material with a slightly adhesive layer. It bends well into curves, can be pressed into engraved lines and does not pull the finish off underneath when removed.
A tire has a different color and a different degree of gloss from the hub, and the transition between them is circular, so it is sprayed freehand only with difficulty. The glazing of a large flying boat, for its part, is made up of a mass of narrow bars, and each one would have to be cut out separately. A pre-cut shape does away with that work and above all ensures that all the frames will be of equal width, which is more visible on a finished model than anything else.
The Soviet Be-6 was a massive amphibian with a gull wing, two radial engines and twin vertical tails. It flew at the end of the 1940s and served naval aviation for patrolling over the sea, searching for submarines and transport tasks; some of the machines went to China, where they stayed in service for a very long time. In the NATO code it was given the name Madge.
Only masking material belongs in the package, nothing to be glued together.
