An injection-molded plastic kit of the legendary Soviet BM-13 rocket launcher in 1:72 scale from PST. This version puts the salvo launch rails on an American truck chassis supplied under Lend-Lease. The kit contains the cab, the cargo bed and the assembly of launch rails, and is meant for modelers with experience of small parts. Check the exact number of parts and the decal options against the instructions.
The BM-13, nicknamed Katyusha, was a Soviet self-propelled rocket launcher that entered history with salvo fire of dozens of rockets launched within a few seconds. The psychological as well as the destructive effect of massed fire made it a symbol of the Soviet side in the Second World War. The launch rails were mounted on various chassis, among them the reliable American trucks from Lend-Lease deliveries.
Cut the parts from the sprues and glue them with thin cement for plastic. Assemble the chassis and the fine structure of the launch rails carefully, as that is the visually most prominent item of the model. The model wears protective green; bring the surface to life with a primer, edge highlighting with a dry brush and weathering, with dust and mud on the running gear. Finish with a matte varnish.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
