1:72 British Infantry Zulu War 1879

Italeri 1:72 British Infantry — Zulu War 1879

A set of injection-molded plastic figures in 1:72 scale from Italeri, depicting British infantry of the period of the Anglo-Zulu War of 1879. The package contains a larger number of figures in various poses, suited to mass scenes, dioramas and tabletop games. The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted.

The real subject

The Anglo-Zulu War of 1879 was a conflict between the British Empire and the Zulu kingdom in the south of Africa. British infantry of that time took the field in distinctive helmets and period uniforms, and it is associated with the famous colonial clashes of this war.

Building and painting tips

Separate the small figures from the sprues and clean up the lugs gently. Glue them with cement for plastic or with cyanoacrylate glue. Apply a thin primer before painting; for working efficiently through a larger number of figures, an airbrush suits the base tones and a brush with a wash suits bringing out the uniforms and the equipment.
