This model is not a kit. Easy Model supplies it completely finished: assembled, with factory paint and with the national and tactical markings applied. The buyer needs no glue, paints, airbrush or experience: the model is unpacked and put on a shelf. The finish corresponds to an aircraft of the Belgian Air Force after the MLU upgrade.
The F-16 Fighting Falcon is a single-engined multirole fighter with a characteristic frameless bubble canopy and a ventral air intake. The abbreviation MLU stands for the mid-life update that the European operators of the type prepared jointly for their F-16A and F-16B aircraft: Belgium, Denmark, the Netherlands and Norway. The program concerned above all the avionics, the cockpit equipment, the fire control systems and the ability to carry newer weapons, so older airframes gained combat capabilities close to those of later production batches. The Belgian Air Force operated the F-16 for decades as its main combat type.
Finished models suit places where there is little time or space for building: an office, a living-room display case, a desk. On the F-16 in 1:72 scale the slimness of the fuselage and the large canopy come across well. The model is also small enough to deserve careful handling: the most delicate parts are the nose probe, the tail surfaces and any underwing stores. Remove dust with a soft brush or by blowing it off, never with a damp cloth, and do not leave the model in direct sunlight.
The model is supplied finished, assembled and painted. It is not meant to be built and glue and paints are not needed.
