1:72 French Foreign Legion

Italeri 1:72 French Foreign Legion — figures

A set of injection-molded plastic figures in 1:72 scale from Italeri, depicting soldiers of the French Foreign Legion. The package contains a larger number of figures in various poses, suited to mass scenes, dioramas and tabletop games. The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted.

The real subject

The French Foreign Legion is a traditional formation of the French army, famous for its service in colonial campaigns and recognizable by its distinctive headgear with a cloth neck flap. Legionnaires are associated with combat service in desert and colonial surroundings.

Building and painting tips

Separate the small figures from the sprues and clean up the lugs gently. Glue them with cement for plastic or with cyanoacrylate glue. Apply a thin primer before painting; for a larger number of figures, an airbrush suits the base tones and a brush with a wash suits bringing out the uniforms and the equipment.
