An injected plastic kit of the Japanese Type 61 tank in 1:72 scale by Trumpeter. The model represents equipment of the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force. The package contains plastic parts, one-piece flexible tracks, decals and assembly instructions.
The Type 61 was the first tank developed and produced in Japan after the Second World War. It entered service at the turn of the 1950s and 1960s and formed the backbone of the armored units of the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force. The armament was a 90 mm gun; the concept of the vehicle grew out of the American patterns of the day but matched Japanese requirements.
Assemble and paint the running gear and the tracks before closing the hull. An airbrush suits the single-color or two-color Japanese scheme. Bring out the edges and the lower areas with a wash and dust pigments; the decals allow period unit markings.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
