An injection-molded plastic kit of the American M142 HIMARS wheeled rocket launcher in 1:72 scale from FORE ART. It is a new mold; according to the manufacturer it combines injection-molded parts with 3D-printed elements, the wheels among them, and photo-etched parts, contains over two hundred parts and offers detail of the engine and the cab. According to the manufacturer the launch pod can be built in the folded transport position as well as in the raised firing position. The M142 HIMARS (High Mobility Artillery Rocket System) is an American light wheeled rocket launcher built on an all-wheel drive truck chassis. It carries a single pod with guided rockets or a tactical missile, and its main advantage is high mobility: after firing it can quickly change its firing position and escape counter-battery fire. Thanks to the wheeled chassis it is easy to transport and deploy. The system has become one of the best-known artillery weapons of the present day.
Cut the parts from the sprues and glue them with thin cement for plastic; wash the 3D-printed parts free of any residue and glue them with cyanoacrylate, as with the photo-etched parts. Paint the cab and the engine bay before closing them up. Apply a primer and the paints with an airbrush; a plain green or sand scheme suits contemporary equipment. Bring out the panel lines with a restrained wash and add a modest layer of dust to the wheels and the chassis so that the vehicle looks like a machine in active service.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
