Injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet heavy tank IS-3M (JS-3M), that is the modernized version of the IS-3, in 1:72 scale from Trumpeter. The model has fine engraved detail and offers two variants of the running gear: a quicker assembly with the tracks as part of the drive assembly, or a more broken-up form for a more demanding build. A decal sheet is included.
The IS-3M was the postwar modernization of the IS-3 heavy tank. It kept the characteristic wedge-shaped hull front (the pike nose), the hemispherical turret and the 122 mm gun, but brought a number of improvements. The external features changed, such as the arrangement of the fenders, the mounting of the fuel tanks and tools and the grab handles on the turret, along with changes aimed at greater reliability and easier maintenance. The modernized vehicles served far into the postwar period and were exported to other countries as well.
Choose the running gear variant according to your experience and assemble the wheels before closing the hull up. Use a thin cement, a base coat and an airbrush; you will bring a green finish to life with dark washes into the joints and pigments for dust and mud on the running gear and the sides.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
