An injection-molded plastic model of the Soviet ChTZ S-65 Stalinets tracked tractor in the version with a closed cab, in 1:72 scale from Trumpeter. It is a smaller kit with a manageable number of parts. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The S-65 Stalinets was a Soviet tracked tractor that followed on from the older S-60 type and replaced it in production from 1937. It was powered by a diesel engine of about 65 horsepower. At the beginning of the Second World War it was the most widespread fully tracked artillery tractor of the Red Army; it towed heavy guns and served in civilian use as well. Some of the machines received a closed cab protecting the crew from the weather.
In 1:72 scale the model is compact and the parts are small, so work with a sharp knife. Finish and paint the running gear before you fit the superstructure. Spray the base over primer; bring the characteristic Soviet olive green shade to life with a wash and dust pigments on the tracks and the underside. Metal edges and tools stand out with dry brushing.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
