1:72 Soldiers painting

Soldiers painting, 1:72 (Royal Model)

This resin (polyurethane) figure set in 1:72 scale from the Italian brand Royal Model captures soldiers painting and servicing equipment. Even in a small scale the maker takes care over a clean casting and legible stances. The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted and is meant to bring a diorama to life with genre action.

The real subject

Painting and camouflaging equipment was an ordinary part of field life during the Second World War. Figures of soldiers with brushes and containers give a scene a story and a sense of scale that the equipment on its own does not offer.

Building and painting tips

Wash the small parts, carefully cut off the casting blocks and clean the mold seams up. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). In 1:72 scale it pays to do the base with an airbrush and the finishing with a thin brush; contrast and shading are the key in a small scale, so that the figure does not disappear.

Who the scene is for

• Builders of dioramas and vignettes in the small 1:72 scale
• Modelers of aviation and ground scenes who want to add action
• More experienced enthusiasts for work with small resin parts

The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
