A decal sheet (waterslide decals) in 1:72 scale from the Czech maker DK Decals. It concentrates on the high-altitude versions of the Supermarine Spitfire – the Mk.VI, the Mk.VII and the Mk.IX – and offers a rich set of camouflage and marking schemes. The sheet contains national markings, squadron code letters and serial numbers for a whole range of particular machines. It is not a model or a kit; it serves to decorate your own Spitfire model.
In an effort to catch German high-altitude reconnaissance and bomber machines, high-altitude versions of the Spitfire were created with a pressurized cabin and a modified engine. The Mk.VI and the Mk.VII were specialized high-altitude fighters, while the widespread Mk.IX was the most versatile variant. Among the squadrons that flew them were units with Czechoslovak airmen.
The decals are released in lukewarm water and settled onto the model. Even the surface under the decal out with a gloss coat, use a decal softener to make them settle into the detail and finally cover them with a matte or semi-gloss coat. The placement of the schemes is given in the instructions enclosed.
This is a decal sheet, not a model. A kit, paints and varnish are not included in the package.
