Finished collector's model of the German assault gun Sturmgeschütz IV in 1:72 scale from the Easy Model brand, in the form matching service on the Eastern Front in 1944. It is not a kit - the model comes from the factory assembled, painted and with markings of the period applied, as a rule with a base as well. All it needs is to be unpacked and set in a display case.
The StuG IV came about by combining the proven armored superstructure of an assault gun carrying a long 75 mm gun with the chassis of the Panzer IV tank. That combination made it possible to raise the output of self-propelled guns quickly in the later phase of the war. The StuG IV proved itself both as a cheaper tank destroyer and as fire support for infantry, and it was used in large numbers precisely on the Eastern Front.
The model is meant for display, not for building. Protect it from dust and direct sunlight, so that the colors do not fade. The look can be refined with pigments and a wash for a muddy or dusty effect, but even without changes the model looks complete.
