1:72 TB.2 PE parts and painting mask is an accessory set from Clear Prop Models for a model of the TB.2 unmanned aerial vehicle in 1:72 scale. It combines photo-etched parts with a painting mask, but it is not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set from the Ukrainian brand Clear Prop Models combines two things that are otherwise bought separately: photo-etched metal parts and a painting mask. Photo-etched metal handles the details that cannot be cast at a convincing thickness in a small scale, while the mask does away with the need to cut shapes out of tape and is applied directly to the clear part. The TB.2 model has to be obtained separately; this item is an add-on.
The TB.2 is a Turkish medium-altitude long-endurance unmanned aerial vehicle. It has an unusual layout with a pair of tail booms, a propeller in a pusher arrangement and a straight wing of large span against a small fuselage. Besides reconnaissance it is able to carry light guided munitions. From a modeling point of view it is a rewarding subject, because the surface of the airframe is smooth and clean and all the prominent details are concentrated on the landing gear, the sensor turret and the pylons.
Photo-etched parts in 1:72 scale are really tiny, so work over a tray with a raised edge. Lift the mask off the sheet with pointed tweezers or a toothpick and press it down first in the middle and then at the edges, so that no air stays under it. Before painting, clean the clear part of grease, otherwise the mask holds badly and paint will creep underneath. Spray the paint in thin coats; a heavy coat will create a ridge at the edge of the mask that will stay visible once it is removed.
