An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet truck ZiS-5V in the Advanced Kit edition from Clear Prop Models. The 1:72 scale package includes several sprues, one of them clear, a set of photo-etched parts, and a decal sheet with several schemes. Despite the small scale, the model offers rich detail.
The ZiS-5 was a Soviet three-ton 4x2 truck produced from the 1930s onward. The wartime economy version, the ZiS-5V, received simplified flat fenders, a wooden cab and other simplifications forced by material shortages. The vehicle was among the most widespread Soviet trucks of the Second World War and carried out a wide range of supply and specialized duties.
The small scale calls for clean work with tiny parts and careful fitting of the cab and chassis. Glue the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate. Use a primer, an airbrush and fine washes; suitable shades and glazes bring the wooden bed to life, and mud and dust effects add convincing weathering.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
