A solid block of clear acrylic, that is the methacrylate also known as acrylic glass, measuring 60 x 60 x 30 mm, from the Spanish brand Green Stuff World. It serves as a base on which a finished figure, a bust or a smaller model rises above the surface of a shelf. According to the manufacturer, this range offers high transparency and a material resistant to impact and to moisture. It is neither a kit nor a part of a model.
For collectors and modelers who want to display finished work and need a neutral, unobtrusive base with no decoration. Thirty millimeters is the taller of the two thicknesses in which the manufacturer makes these blocks, and besides the 60 x 60 mm footprint there are larger formats as well. The surface is glossy, so dust and scuffs show on it: handle the block through a cloth and polish small scratches out with a plastic polishing paste.
Acrylic is a plastic. Solvent thinners and cleaners containing acetone dull and etch the surface, so lukewarm water with a drop of soap is enough for cleaning. The model, the figure and the glue are not included in the package.
