Responsibility details are not available.
An A4 softcover publication in English, whose author is Jerry Scutts. The Warpaint Series devotes each volume to one aircraft type and, besides history, brings reference material for modelers. It is not a kit and not an accessory but a book.
The Fw 200 Condor came about as a four-engine airliner for long-distance routes, and only the war made it a machine for reconnaissance over the Atlantic and for attacks on Allied convoys. From its airliner origin it also carried its greatest weakness, because the slender fuselage was not built for rough landings with a bomb load and more than once it broke. Even so it was among the most feared German machines over the Atlantic and operated over the convoys for a long time without a counterweight, until the Allies introduced escort carriers. Thanks to its airliner origin the Condor has an unusual double face for the modeler as well: some machines were finished in the civil colors of airlines, others in the gray and green schemes of the naval air arm, and the list of individual aircraft in the book makes exactly that choice easier.
For modelers who build the Condor and need reference on camouflage and markings, and for readers interested in the war in the Atlantic. The text is in English; the list of machines and the drawings in 1:72 scale are of use even without reading.
