Grab Handle Maker is a Master Tools bending jig for making grab handles and grips of equal size from wire or from etched strip.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Grab Handle Maker from the brand Master Tools is not a part for a model but a tool. It serves to let a modeler bend grab handles, grips and brackets from wire or from thin etched strip that all have the same shape and the same spacing. A handle bent by hand always differs by a fraction, and on the smooth surface of a hull that unevenness shows at once. The jig solves the problem by having the shape determined by a fixed form rather than by eye and fingers.
Use soft copper or annealed brass wire, so that it does not break at the bend. Leave the ends longer than you need and shorten them only after bending, because a short piece cannot be clamped properly in the jig. Drill the holes for a handle to the actual spacing of the finished part, not to the drawing, because a bend always springs back a little. Degrease the part before gluing, as it then holds considerably better. Metal is glued to plastic with cyanoacrylate glue; ordinary plastic cement does not work on a joint between metal and plastic.
It will be appreciated above all by builders of military vehicles and ships who replace molded handles with wire, and by anyone who makes the same shape repeatedly and wants a uniform result. The tool can be used again and again and will last through many kits, so it serves even a modeler who builds a few models a year.
