Heinkel He 177 by Kev Darling is an English-language monograph on the German heavy bomber He 177 from the British Warpaint Series, volume number 33. It is a publication, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A softcover publication in A4 format in English from the pen of Kev Darling. The Warpaint Series devotes each volume to a single aircraft type and, besides the history, brings reference material for modelers as well. It is not a kit or an accessory but a book.
The He 177 Greif was the only German heavy bomber that reached production in any significant numbers during the Second World War. Its oddity was the powerplant: in each nacelle two coupled engines worked on a single shaft, so that the aircraft looked twin-engine but had four engines. It was exactly this arrangement that earned it a lasting mistrust for its proneness to fires. The German air force deployed the machines on the Eastern Front and in night attacks on Britain, and some of them carried guided bombs and anti-ship missiles. A span of over thirty meters makes it a large model in 1:72 scale, and to build a particular machine you need to know what nose, armament and underwing pylons it had, because the individual versions differ in these details. That is precisely what the drawings and profiles in the volume are for.
For modelers who build the He 177 and are looking for reference on camouflage and markings, and for readers interested in the German air force of the Second World War. The text is in English, and you will get use out of the drawings and profiles even without reading it.
