A themed set of acrylic paints from the Ukrainian manufacturer ICM for figures of American airmen from the period of the Vietnam War. The package holds six bottles with a volume of 12 ml, and one of them is a matte varnish. The binder is acrylic and water-thinnable.

What the set is for

An airman figure is a different job in color terms than an aircraft: it calls for the shades of the flight suit, the vest and the harness, the footwear and the helmet, that is several earthy and khaki tones side by side. The set brings these tones together, so you do not have to assemble them from different lines and guess whether they match.

Use

• According to the manufacturer the paints are prepared above all for the brush, which suits figures.
• For the airbrush the manufacturer gives a thinning of 40 to 60 percent with water or with ICM acrylic thinner.
• Give the figure a primer first; the acrylic then holds better and covers evenly.
• Shade and highlight only over a dry coat, otherwise the acrylic dissolves back.
• Wash the brushes in water right after work.

For modelers who add a crew to American aircraft and helicopters of the Vietnam period, and for builders of figures in smaller scales, where it pays to have the shades of one scene from one line.

Acrylic paints are water-thinnable and undemanding to work with a brush, but even so make sure of ventilation when spraying and protect your airway. Keep the bottles well closed, do not let them freeze and store them out of the reach of children.
