AMMO of Mig Jimenez Acrylic Filter Turquoise is a liquid acrylic filter for toning the surfaces of a model. You control the strength of the effect mainly through how much you thin it and how many thin coats you lay on.
Responsibility details are not available.
A filter shifts the tone of a whole painted surface without bringing out the engraved lines or adding dirt. This one carries a turquoise shade, that is a blue-green position that suits pulling cool finishes together and surfaces where a reflection of the surroundings or of water is meant to show.
The filter comes from the factory at a certain concentration, but that need not match what you happen to need. If you want a barely perceptible shift of tone, thin the product, with water or acrylic thinner in the case of an acrylic base, and lay on more weak passes. If you want a stronger change, work with the product unthinned, but reckon with the risk of visible edges where areas have dried. Thinning has one more advantage: a looser medium runs off the edges and raised parts better and gathers by itself at the engraved lines and in the corners, which is exactly what weathering should do. Always try the mixture you have made on a piece of scrap plastic or on the underside of the model first.
For modelers who want control over the strength of the effect and are not afraid to experiment. If you are only starting out, begin rather with a thinned blend: a weak filter can be strengthened at any time, while an overdone one is far harder to remove.
Keep out of the reach of children. Work in a ventilated room, protect your eyes and skin and wash your hands after work. Close the bottle carefully after use.
