The 0.5 mm diameter sends markedly more paint onto the model per unit of time, so it suits primer coats, large areas of fuselages and truck beds, clear coats and thicker materials that would pass through a narrower nozzle only with difficulty. The self-centering seat lines the nozzle up with the needle without precise tightening.

When to reach for the wider nozzle

The difference between 0.35 and 0.5 mm is not just a slightly coarser line, it is fundamental: the wider opening lets through even paint you would otherwise have to thin heavily, and you cover an area faster and more evenly. What you give up is that the finest line is no longer within reach.

How to handle the nozzle

• Always change it with the needle pulled out, or the tip may be damaged
• After work, flush it until the thinner runs clear
• Let deposits soften by soaking, not by mechanical cleaning
• It is worth keeping a spare one in reserve
