The Airviper is a gravity feed airbrush with a double action trigger, where pressing it releases the air and drawing it back the paint. The combination of a needle and a nozzle two tenths of a millimeter across allows a line from four tenths of a millimeter to roughly four and a half centimeters wide, so with a single tool you can manage both the preshading of panel lines and covering the surface of a smaller model.
The fluoroplastic seals stand up to aggressive thinners as well, so the airbrush is not confined to water-thinnable paints; lacquers, enamels, inks and primers will pass through it too. The needle guard is arranged so that it can be taken off and the tip wiped during work without having to take the whole tool apart. After every session it is worth flushing the channel with the appropriate thinner and returning the needle carefully, because a tip of this size is sensitive to bending.
Two tenths of a millimeter is the choice for mottled camouflage, shading around rivets and gradual transitions of shade. For the base coat of a larger fuselage or for a thick filler a wider opening tends to be more practical, because coarse pigment passes through a narrow channel only with difficulty and there is a risk of clogging.
The airbrush alone is supplied. The package contains no compressor, hose or paints.
