A round brush of synthetic fibers from AK interactive. It is a tool for painting, not a kit and not a paint, and the package contains nothing but the brush itself. The round shape is the most versatile profile a modeler has: the fibers are drawn into a point that holds its tip, so with one brush you make both a fine mark with the end of the tip and a somewhat wider stroke by pressing the belly down. Size 0 is among the smaller ones: with round brushes the rule is that the more zeros in the designation, the finer the fibers, so 2/0, 3/0 or 4/0 is finer still than 0, while 1 and 2 are thicker.
A round zero is not a brush for areas. You would draw a finish on a fuselage or a hull with dozens of strokes, the marks would overlap and the surface would be uneven; flat and wider brushes or an airbrush serve for that. Nor will you make a long continuous line across a whole model with it: short fibers will not hold enough paint and the stroke will break (a liner is for that).
For every modeler and figure painter who needs one dependable working round brush for detail. Synthetic fibers stand up to aggressive solvents and thinners considerably better than natural hair, so do not be afraid to work with enamels and lacquers. What synthetics will not forgive, however, is paint dried in the fibers, which ruins a brush irreversibly.
Care: never dip the brush as far as the metal ferrule, because paint will dry at the root of the fibers and splay them. Once the work is done, wash it immediately rather than in a while: acrylic with water, lacquer or enamel with the appropriate thinner. Store it fibers up in a stand or lying flat and never leave it standing on the bottom of a jar of water or thinner, because a deformed point can no longer be straightened.
