Metal turnbuckles Albatros type (30 pieces) from GasPatch models — accurate rigging turnbuckles with a ball anchor point for tensioning biplane bracing faithfully.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of thirty metal turnbuckles of the Albatros type from the Greek manufacturer GasPatch models. This is not a model but fine turned metal fittings for rigging, that is for tensioning the bracing wires of biplanes. The Albatros type differs from the others in its ball anchor point, which matches the form used on German Albatros machines and on similar designs.
The turnbuckle is threaded onto the rigging thread and serves to tension it and anchor it to the airframe. Historic biplanes held their shape thanks to a system of pre-tensioned wires; faithful turnbuckles raise the impression of scale accuracy markedly compared with plastic imitations.
Thread the turnbuckle onto the rigging thread (drawn monofilament or elastic rigging thread) and fix it with a drop of super glue. Work with tweezers and a magnifier; the metal parts can be painted once degreased.
The set holds turnbuckles only. The rigging thread, glue and the airplane model are not included in the package. The scale is not given in the name.
