An aluminum palette with ten wells is a basic aid of the modeling workshop. It serves to mix and measure out paints, oil paints, washes and thinners in small amounts: you mix exactly as much of a shade as you need at that moment and do not have to open and dirty a whole bottle for it. Note: this is not a paint and not a set of paints. The package holds no coloring matter at all; it is an empty metal palette, that is a tool.
The main advantage of aluminum is that it does not absorb paint or thinner. Unlike paper and plastic palettes it does not deform, bleed or warp under the pressure of solvents. Once the work is done it is enough to wipe the wells out and clean them with thinner or a cleaner without the material suffering; the palette will therefore last for many years and can be used again and again. At the same time, ten separate wells make it possible to have several shades or ratios on the go side by side, which will be appreciated by everyone who mixes their own tones or works by progressive lightening.
For plastic modelers, figure painters and artists who mix their own shades with a brush and want a durable alternative to disposable palettes. It suits beginners as well as the advanced who work with oil paints, washes and multilayer painting.
Safety: when cleaning the palette with thinner, work in a well-ventilated room, keep away from open flame and use gloves. Keep out of the reach of children.
